Crazy, Busy, and Exciting Times

I think it’s a safe thing to say that this summer has been a busy one, filled with kids’ activities, lots of work, and as of this month – a few travels.  I feel that I haven’t had a moment between writing, editing my photos, keeping up with the kids, attempting to clean the house, staying in touch with friends, and that other crazy kind of work I do in my free time (nurse!) to actually just sit down and let it soak all in.

Being busy isn’t always a good thing, though I think that between running a business, tending to three kids, and keeping up with a house, that busy will be the norm for the unforeseeable future – and I’m okay with that.

We are off this weekend for a little family trip down to Southern Oregon to visit my family, stopping off in Canyonville to stay with my Dad for a couple of days, then traveling down to Grants Pass to visit my Mom. Anika’s birthday is this next Wednesday (man time flies!) It’s her golden birthday – turning 12 on the twelfth, and all she’s wanted to do for her birthday is visit her grandparents – so that’s what we are.

Whenever we head down to Southern Oregon it seems as if we try to squeeze more visits with family and friends in than there is time. Even though we love seeing everyone it’s not always the exact vacation we are hoping for….however I’m going to have that vacation next week.

I applied for a scholarship for the Wine BloggersConference, and  I actually ended up receiving one last minute by default (less than a months’ notice) and  so after we return from our Southern Oregon trip on the 11th, I am going to turn around and leave for New York the evening of the 12th! I’ll be staying in Corning, a small town in the Finger Lakes region, and will be learning a lot about wine, sampling the local wine, touring the area, sightseeing, and meeting new friends. I’m incredibly excited and a tad scared about this gigantic adventure that the blogging world has taken me on. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve absolutely fallen in love with wine over the past decade and love learning about it – however I’m going to be the person with probably the least amount of knowledge at this conference…but what an opportunity! You’d better follow along on Instagram because I know that there will be amazing views from the Finger Lakes region.

Like I mentioned, August is an incredibly crazy, busy, and exciting month – but  I can’t wait to share my adventures with you!
